Why a Flag Bill When One is in the U.S. Flag Code Already?
The NH House is spending money to put this law on the NH books for WHAT ? If the House and Senate did their homework, they would have known there is a U.S. Flag Code that we all follow, that gives our Flag its respect.
Here is the section about condos. Restrictions on Display of the Flag by Real Estate Associations.
The Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005prohibits a condominium, cooperative, or real estate management association from adopting or enforcing any policy or agreement that would restrict or prevent a member of the association from displaying the flag in accordance with the Federal Flag Code on residential property to which the member has a separate ownership interest.
So why put in a Flag Bill that already is in the U.S. Flag Code ? Feel good legislation is about one wanting to be re elected, not what is in the best interest of those that you took an oath to serve.
If wording were put in such as; In the State of New Hampshire anyone improperly displaying The American Flag within the State of New Hampshire, that person is subject to a fine of up to $1,000 . Anyone or group holding The American Flag stretched out in the hands of one or many and not properly on a staff during the National Anthem is also subject to fines.
Anyone or group that uses The American Flag for advertising is subject to fines. I am sure other items in the U.S. Flag code could be defined so that the public is aware of improper display of our flag. Cities and towns will fly The American Flag at night without a light shown directly on it. A light shining on a street, is not a light shown upon The American Flag. There are those that pin and tie our flag to sides of buildings. That means there is NO FREEDOM !
